Meet our Instructors

Dawn Dascomb

 

Dawn has been a USEA member since 1987. Competing successfully at the lower levels of eventing over the years. She has been teaching for the last 18 years. Dressage and eventing has been her focus. Her students have been very successful over the years with eventing, dressage and pony club. She has trained primarily with the very classic instructor Janet Briggs and Suzi Gornall. She has ridden with Karl Milkolka and Mike Plumb. Annually she has students competing in regional and national competitions successfully. Most recently in 2003, 2004 and 2005 she had at least 3 students achieve year end awards with the Area 1 USEA organization at Novice and Training level each year. In 2003 she was USEA's Year end champion at the Senior Open Novice level with Alexis and Corporate. Her students are looking forward to a strong competition year in 2006. Most  students bring along green and young horses over time with the encouragement and help of Dawn in a fun and relaxing environment.

Dawn believes that things take time to develop and nothing can be achieved with shortcuts. Variety is key to keeping a horse and rider happy.

Our trainers at GAS know and understand that teaching is not only about riding but is also about getting the whole horsemanship experience. Safety is of the utmost importance. Showing the students the beauty of horses while teaching them the skills to work with these wonderful creatures is the goal of all our trainers. We take pride in our trainer’s knowledge base, experienced school horses, and spacious facility that keeps students learning and growing until they head off to college. Even then many of them come back to play. We have riders of all ages and levels.

Ann Anderson

Ann runs her lesson program out of Green Acres with her school horses. She has been teaching for 15 years. She has been teaching balance seat over the years. She is a level Two in the Parelli Training System and is enjoying passing the knowledge onto her students.
